This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by House Clearance Acton to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to ensure that our business activities do not contribute to any form of exploitation.
House Clearance Acton maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. We expect the same high standards from everyone we work with, including employees, contractors, suppliers and other business partners.
Any evidence or reasonable suspicion of modern slavery connected to our business will be treated as a serious breach of our standards and will result in immediate investigation and, where appropriate, termination of the relationship and notification to relevant authorities.
House Clearance Acton provides house clearance, removal and associated property services. Our supply chains primarily include subcontracted labour, recycling and waste management partners, transport providers, equipment suppliers and office service providers.
We recognise that some areas of our supply chain may present higher risks, particularly those involving temporary labour, waste handling and overseas manufactured goods. We are committed to identifying and addressing these risks through robust due diligence and continued engagement with our suppliers.
All suppliers and contractors engaged by House Clearance Acton are required to comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. We communicate our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery to suppliers at the outset of our relationship and reinforce it through our ongoing interactions.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits and assessments to confirm compliance with our standards. These audits may include reviewing employment practices, verifying right-to-work documentation, checking working hours and pay records, and confirming that workers are not charged recruitment fees or subject to coercion. If a supplier cannot demonstrate adequate controls to prevent modern slavery, we will work with them to improve or we will cease the relationship.
All employees of House Clearance Acton share responsibility for helping to identify and prevent modern slavery risks. We provide guidance so that managers and staff can recognise signs of exploitation, such as workers appearing fearful, excessively controlled, unable to speak freely, or lacking access to their own identification documents.
Employees involved in procurement, subcontracting and supplier management receive focused instructions on due diligence and ethical sourcing. They are expected to challenge and report any conduct that appears inconsistent with our values or legal obligations.
House Clearance Acton encourages anyone, including employees, workers within our supply chain and members of the public, to report any concerns about modern slavery associated with our business. Concerns can be raised directly with line managers, senior management or our designated compliance contact by phone, email or in person.
We will investigate all reports promptly and sensitively. No one will suffer dismissal, disciplinary action or other detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith. Where there is evidence of criminal activity, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and relevant agencies.
We are committed to continually improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. This includes reviewing our risk assessments, supplier onboarding processes and staff guidance to ensure they remain effective and proportionate as our business evolves.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by the senior management of House Clearance Acton to assess progress, identify new risks and agree any additional actions required. Updated versions of the statement will reflect changes in legislation, industry best practice and the scale and nature of our activities.
By maintaining strong standards, open communication and a culture of accountability, House Clearance Acton aims to ensure that our services are delivered in a way that respects the dignity and rights of every individual involved.
